APL 1446 Da milagrosa Imagem de nossa Senhora de Ceiça, perto de Montemor
12th cent. miraculous image of Our Lady is kept in a chapel looked after by a hermit. King Sancho I has the image transferred to the church of a new monastery, erected nearby. The image disappears and returns to the chapel [A]. Another image is made for the monastery. Later on the chapel is destroyed and the image is (again) transferred to the church. It disappears to reappear in the hollow of an oak tree [A], near the ruins of the old chapel. A new chapel is built there.
