APL 168 Lenda da cruz do preto
In other times the farmers had a blackman over there and the blackman would go here and there and everywhere, to Boa Fe and everywhere and he wasn't afraid of anything, not even of the wolves. The poor fellow when he went out he would carry a stick with a head of entwined strawp, but the wolves came tafter him, there where it's called the Blackman's Cross, and they came towards him and they were so many that they finished with him, with the man. Well... they killed him and devoured him. Only his shoes remained, with the feet inside. Apart from those they ate everything of him.
That is why that cross was raised over there, it is the Cross of the Blackman, over there near the cromlech of Almendres, on the way to Boa Fe.
